In the next step, we will use the Change of Address tool. For this to work, both your Google Search Console properties (old and new domain) must be set as "Domain" and not as "URL Prefix".
Once you have set up ownership of your new domain, go back to ownership of your old domain. If you don't have GSC ownership for your old domain, you can skip this step.
From inside your old domain property in GSC, click on " Settings ". Then, click on " Change of Address ".
“Change of address” selected in Google Search Console settings.
Next, under "Update Google" you will have an option to specify the address of the new website. Click on the " Select a new site " drop-down menu and choose the domain ownership that you just set up for your new website.
“Select a new site” selected from the drop-down menu in the “Update Google (recommended)” section.
When you are done, click on " Validate the update of & ".
Google will then attempt to validate that you have set up the necessary redirects before indicating a change of address. This is important. Using the change of address tool is not a substitute for setting up redirects.
To complete the domain address change, click " Confirm Move ".
Once you're successful, a notification in Google Search vietnam telegram data Console will appear on both the old and new domain properties.
Search Console will begin populating data for your new domain (this may take a few days), and will notify you of any related errors.
Note
You may also need to update other tools and platforms you use with your new domain. This includes things like your Google Business Profile, social media pages, and any citations that mention your business details.
Step 6: Update all internal links
After verifying your new domain, you need to begin the process of updating all of the internal links on your website. You want to replace the links that go to your old domain with links that go to your new domain.
These old links will still work thanks to the redirects you set up in step 4. But it's always a good practice to update them.
