How to Restore SIM Contacts to a New Phone

Post by najmusseoex »

When you get a new phone, one of the first things you’ll want to do is transfer your contacts saved on your old SIM card. Fortunately, restoring SIM contacts to a new device is straightforward and usually requires just a few simple steps. The process may vary slightly depending on whether you’re using an Android or iPhone, but the basics remain similar.

For Android Phones:

Insert your old SIM card containing the contacts into your new Android device.

Open the Contacts app (sometimes called People or Phonebook).

Tap the menu icon (three dots or lines) and go to Settings or Manage contacts.

Look for an option labeled Import/Export contacts.

Choose Import from SIM card.

Select the account where you want to save your contacts (e.g., Google italy phone number list account or phone memory).

Confirm, and your phone will copy the contacts from the SIM to your chosen storage.

For iPhones:

Insert the SIM card into your iPhone.

Go to Settings > Contacts.

Tap Import SIM Contacts.

The iPhone will copy the contacts from your SIM card into the iCloud or the phone’s internal storage.

After importing, it’s a good idea to check your contacts list to ensure all names and numbers have transferred correctly. Also, remember that SIM cards typically store only basic contact information (name and phone number), so other details like email addresses or photos may not be transferred this way. For a more complete transfer, using cloud-based syncing services is recommended.
