The third-round draw for the DKBC Cup was held at TSG Kaiserslautern last Monday (dkbc.news reported live on Facebook). 33 teams remain in the competition. On December 6, the clubs that competed internationally last weekend will also compete in the national competition for the first time.
The men's second round will not be completed until October 31, 2015, so the draw will take place separately after that.
Women's draw:
ESV Augsburg can look forward to the German champions and four clipping path service women's runners-up. Last year's Final Four finalist KSV Gräfinau-Angstedt was less fortunate, traveling to the newly crowned NBC Cup winner KV Liedolsheim.
Men's second round, first games:
Two first-division teams eliminated / Crazy game in Schwenningen
Two first-division teams were eliminated in the second round of the DKBC Cup. Zwickau had no chance in their 8-0 defeat at Freiberg, while Kipfenberg avenged their 6-2 league defeat with a 5-3 victory in Breitengüßbach in the second round of the promoted teams' duel.
There was a crazy game in Schwenningen, where KSV Hrvatska lost to second-division relegated team Schott Mainz 36:39 in a sudden victory. The score was 4:4 with 12:12 sets after the first 720 throws, because Mainz had one more pin in the final total (3372:3373) and secured two team points. A sudden victory (both final players each made three full throws) had to decide the match: 12:13, 12:13, and 12:13, making the score 36:39.
