The transversal skills of those who work in Marketing: the Soft Skills

Post by simahosain098 »

Those listed here are all “hard skills”. But there are also the so-called “soft skills”, that is, all those “skills that are not specific to a role. They are personality characteristics such as individual qualities and attitudes, social, communication and management skills. They are complementary to the hard skills (which are the technical and administrative skills related to a profession)”.

Whether you do web marketing or a carpenter, these are transversal skills that are useful to everyone. Most of them fall into the sphere of Emotional Intelligence , a type of intelligence that is as fundamental in life as it is often underestimated. In this regard, I recommend reading the great classic “Emotional Intelligence” by Daniel Goleman .

What are the Soft Skills to train? Here is a selection of the 12 that I think are the most important:

Problem Solving : the number, or the ability to solve problems oman whatsapp shopping data that are faced at work, in any job, without losing heart or getting anxious. Problem solving often consists in the ability to analyze and break down a problem into many small sub-problems, to be faced and solved one at a time. No complaints, no anxiety, no passivity.

Managing anxiety and stress : work involves solving problems and completing projects that are often non-linear, of any kind. These are complex processes, full of variables outside of your direct control. This generates anxiety and stress: knowing how to control your emotional tensions creates a responsible, productive and career-oriented worker. In a word, resilience.

Flexibility : that is, the ability to adapt to the context, to new things, to the unexpected. It is often synonymous with the ability and speed of change and is closely linked to the previous point.

Motivation : or rather, the ability to constantly identify motivating elements for oneself within a job. Motivation is always high at the beginning of a new job; the difficult thing is to keep motivation high even beyond the motivating mechanisms put in place by a company (or very often ignored by a company, unfortunately).

Communication : the ability to communicate with people is a skill closely related to empathy and teamwork. Ultimately, those who know how to work in a team are people who know and want to communicate, to relate, without envy or egocentrism. Communicating effectively is a generic term that also includes the ability to control one's nonverbal communication and, above all, to understand the nonverbal communication of other people...
Empathy : as per definition, it is the ability to immediately put oneself in another person's state of mind or situation.
Lateral thinking / creativity : that is, the ability to observe a problem and solve it even outside of standard thought or operational paths, therefore to propose changes – stressful by their nature. It is a conscious effort, not a talent that flows naturally.
