In today's environment where it is difficult to meet new people and even to keep in touch with old friends, the world of motorcycling, with its camaraderie, its own codes and its gatherings, is a good way to socialise. Almost 60 percent of motorcyclists say they have made new friends thanks to their two-wheeled vehicle.
The fact that motorcycles are a vehicle that encourages socialising is most clearly perceived among more experienced bikers. Of these, 72% say they have met new people thanks to their motorcycle and 7 out of 10 say they have made new friends by using this vehicle. But these data do not stop there. Motorcycle usage habits
But what is the most experienced biker like? Have their habits changed much since they started using their two-wheeled vehicle? AMV and We are testers already carried out another study in 2023, the results of which praised the advantages that bikers enjoy compared to the rest (savings of €453 per year and 23 minutes per day), and they wanted to continue understanding how biker habits have evolved.
Over the past 20 years, bikers' habits have remained relatively constant. According to the results of the study, the use of the motorcycle for daily travel is the most chosen by those surveyed (close to 80%), followed by: urban leisure outings (half of the bikers choose this option), weekend routes (34%). However, while the different reasons for use have remained practically the same over the years, the time of use has changed: 42% of bikers say they use their motorcycle more now than when they started using it.
Furthermore, according to the study, bikers not only value positively the comfort and speed that this vehicle provides for their travels, but almost 66% also say that it is the vehicle they most enjoy getting around in.
