Kiss debuts 'immortal' digital avatars

KISS will live on forever — at least in the form of digital avatars, the band announced during a recent farewell tour performance.



The greatest glam rockers of all time have been on their End of The Road tour for four years now, and recently wrapped up their final show at Madison Square Garden in New York. KISS have done several farewell tours, but this one may be their last.

At the end of the show, after KISS had finished playing their last Bulk SMS Portugal song (Rock and Roll All Nite), they disappeared behind a veil of fire and smoke. As soon as it cleared, the lights went out, and a screen behind the stage showed a camera zooming over a gloomy lake on some fantasy planet toward four silhouettes: KISS' digital avatars.



Then Paul Stanley announced the beginning of a new era for KISS, exclaiming:

"KISS Army, your love—your strength—made us immortal."

Another amazing detail is the transparent screens onto which the band members are projected, giving the show a futuristic Blade Runner atmosphere.



They performed the song, then the video ended, and the audience saw an image of four avatars under a stylized KISS logo and the phrase "The beginning of a new era."
