Sitemap FAQs
Do I need to submit a sitemap to Google Search Console?
You should, but it is not mandatory to submit a sitemap to Google. Google bots will crawl your website eventually; submitting a sitemap simply speeds up the process.
Before you submit, make sure your sitemap reflects what's currently on your website.
You don’t want to submit a sitemap with broken links, missing images, or orphaned pages. Performing a site audit will help you find and fix these errors so you can submit a correct sitemap to Google.
