CRM specialist Salesforce has introduced Salesforce Foundations , a free upgrade that brings key cross-departmental capabilities to all Salesforce customers at no additional cost. Foundations includes a suite of Sales, Service, Marketing, Commerce, and Data Cloud capabilities, all in one new, improved user interface. This makes it easier for businesses to gain a unified view of their customers and create connected, AI-powered experiences across all customer touchpoints.
Key features include opportunity management, case management, targeted email campaigns, and secure payment links—all designed to improve user experience and streamline operations—without additional costs or data integrations. Finally, Salesforce Foundations customers can enhance their systems with thousands of pre-built third-party extensions and integrations. All of these are available on the AppExchange, including extended free trials from over 25 leading partners, including Docusign, RingCentral, and ZoomInfo.
Salesforce Foundations Keys
79% of customers expect consistent interactions across departments, but 55% say they often feel like they’re communicating with separate departments rather than a single company. Salesforce Foundations connects departments, providing additional functionality to Sales and Service Cloud customers. It brings together data from Sales, Service, Marketing, and Commerce into a unified platform so customers can have a consistent experience no matter where they are in the process.
Unlike other CRMs, which are often limited to native features focused on one or two lines of business, Salesforce Foundations, Sales Cloud, and Service Cloud now include built-in features for Marketing and Commerce. These help companies create connected customer experiences without additional upfront costs or data integrations.
All of the features offered in Salesforce Foundations are built on the core Salesforce platform and enterprise-wide data hosted in the Salesforce Data Cloud, which harmonizes customer data from across the company, including data that was previously inaccessible or not centralized in one system. It serves as the foundation for artificial intelligence and drives insights and automation to make the customer experience more relevant.
Benefits of Salesforce Foundations for Businesses
Increase revenue with sales, service, and marketing teams working in one place instead of on separate platforms.
Ensure faster cash generation since as soon as a customer is ready to make a purchase, the sales manager can generate secure payment links by easily incorporating these payment links into a PDF with an invoice or in an email without the need for an external payment system.
Increase customer loyalty by empowering service teams that can add customers to marketing processes to create more personalized experiences.
Personalize customer experiences with unified data. Data Cloud automatically brings together customer data created in Salesforce, providing insights into the customer journey and a reliable database for AI tools and solutions. This makes it possible, for example, to create highly targeted segmentation lists or sales process stages with information that may have previously been inaccessible or not centralized in one system.
Work faster with an updated user interface. Users improve their planning by finding what they need with the new navigation that now features customizable, ready-to-use home cards that fit their priorities.
Extend capabilities with partner apps. Customers can extend their Salesforce capabilities with free trials of different apps available on the AppExchange such as Webex by Cisco, Docusign, RingCentral, and more.
“Businesses need a single, trusted partner to deliver the personalized experiences customers expect. With Salesforce Foundations, businesses across all industries can leverage sales, service, marketing, and commerce capabilities along with unified customer data on a single platform, allowing them to manage their entire front office in one place to increase revenue, respond to service requests, create marketing campaigns, set up payments, and more,” said David Schmaier, president and chief product officer at Salesforce.
