Mark Zuckerberg's bet on the Metaverse is costing him dearly, his fortune has decreased by 71 billion dollars

Mark Zuckerberg's fortune has been cut almost in half. Until recently, the creator of Facebook had a fortune of 106 billion, which placed him third in an elite group of global billionaires. Only Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates have surpassed him. Zuckerberg is now in 15th place on the list of the richest people according to Forbes, a list that is now headed by Elon Musk.

Regarding the metaverse, Zuckerberg said he expects the project to lose “significant” amounts of money over the next three to five years due to this focus on the metaverse. Almost all of Zuckerberg’s wealth is in Meta stock, as he owns more than 350 million shares, according to the company’s latest statement.
