Why is Google doing this?
Since 2010, Google has offered the option to search via a secure connection, and since 2012, Google has increasingly automatically encrypted search results. The search engine does this to ensure the privacy of users, according to Google . It is striking that the search term is still passed on to advertisers who use Google AdWords.

State of affairs
Since 2010, you will find the developments and extensions of Google 'secure search' listed below:

May 2010 : Google launches 'encrypted

October 2011 : Logged-in users (Google account, e.g. via Gmail) on Google.com use the secure connection by default;
November 2011: Android 4.0 is released, which is later revealed not to pass search information;
March 2012 : Logged-in users worldwide now search over the encrypted connection;
July 2012 : Firefox 14 is released, making Google Secure Search the default for all users;
September 2012 : Safari in iOS6 (iPhone + iPad) uses Google secure search by default (and because Google treats mobile secure search differently, you don't even know the source and these visitors are measured as direct traffic);
January 2013 : Every user of Google Chrome goes over the secure connection, whether logged in or not;
August 2013 : The iOS problem from September 2012 will be solved soon: from version iOS 7 all searchers on iPhone and iPad will be measured as Google visitors again.

When Google announced it, it would be less than 10% of all search terms. However, that quickly turned out to be wrong. Various sites in various industries saw the share of not provided lebanon phone data grow strongly. Sometimes to over 50%!

'(not provided)' in the Netherlands
Since March 2012, you can also see the share of (not provided) keywords in the Netherlands increasing strongly. At my employer, I made an analysis of the share of '(not provided)' in March 2012, October 2012 and May 2013 of:

30 websites (various different industries)
7 million organic visitors per month (total)
Keyword (not provided) share Google.nl 2012 and 2013

As you can see, the share (not provided) is rising steadily. Right after the 'launch' it was indeed below 10%, but at the moment we are already at 30%. And for now I only see it growing further.
