What is Point Tolerance and when does it apply?

Time off is a benefit offered to public sector workers, usually on festive days such as Carnival, Christmas or New Year. Find out who receives time off and the main features of this benefit that can be applied by companies.



Who does the Point Tolerance apply to?
Normally, time off is applied to the public sector, that is, to state institutions. And although it is not mandatory, private companies can follow suit and apply time off to their employees' working hours.

Point Tolerance Characteristics
There are some important issues when it comes to point tolerance, we highlight the most important ones:

Tolerance of time off does not replace vacations, that is, if the employee has vacations at the time of the tolerance, these are not suspended. Therefore, there is no place for an extra vacation day;
The meal allowance is not paid on days when the worker is not working;
Time off is considered an absence, which may result in loss of pay, according to the Labor Code.
