Goran Bosankić's career began in the "payment" industry, where through AssecoSEE he went from director of the POS department to group manager for payment R&D , from raw operations to strategic management, and then in the world of banking as a consultant and country manager for the ABC Tech group, he rose to the position of CEO.

And how did one CEO decide to move on?

My previous position definitely left an indelible mark on my career, and when I look back at what I've accomplished in those four years, it just seems incredible to me now, even with a little hindsight, especially considering that I started in the infamous 2020 . In fact, I've achieved all the goals I set for myself and more, and it's time for new challenges.

Return to roots
Although he has been deeply involved in the banking tech space for the past few years, he says he has always kept an eye on the part that has become increasingly convergent and intertwined over the years, culminating in the trend of so-called "embedded finance", where various non-financial participants enter the world of financial services , primarily through the payment system.

Field 39 is precisely the "sweet spot" of those areas, where it ideally connects both worlds: it has incredible expertise on a global level, phenomenal management with a clear vision, knowledge and energy, a range of products that can be competitive anywhere, and when we look only at the region, there is currently no similar company.

Many are unaware that millions of transactions a day around the world are in some way enabled by the work of one small company from Croatia. The potential is huge, and it is my experience over the past years that I plan to build into that takeoff.

Field39 develops payment processing solutions, and considering that he started his career in that field, Goran honestly says that he is looking forward to returning to his roots where he first took off.

But above all, I am happy to work in this team. The challenge will be the construction and transformation of the existing story into something much bigger, but it is also a joy for me.

An experience waiting to be applied
Although it won't be easy, Goran is certainly capable of overcoming these challenges, given his car owner database experience. Speaking of which, we asked him what prepared him most for his new role ...

It's hard to list everything because almost every segment of my career has something that will be necessary to apply here. Maybe two basic things I've done over the past years:

The first, the transformation of what is now a semi-service organization into a product and SaaS company with a structure and processes ready for expansion, something that was a key task for me in the first year in my previous position: the acquisition of a product company and its inclusion in a wider organization that was service-oriented until then. All this resulted in a full-blooded product company with 6x higher revenues in 4 years. We rightfully expect even better results here.

The second is certainly structuring business development, the sales network, and generally putting the entire company on the map , in accordance with its potential, something I have continuously done throughout my career.
