Engagement Considerations Remember that engagement does not equal interest in your account

Many people think that high engagement, such as the number of likes and saves, is proof of an account's popularity. Of course, that's not wrong.

However, in recent years, the recommendation function of social media instagram database algorithms has improved, and users are increasingly seeing posts from accounts they do not follow. For businesses, this means that their posts are receiving more responses from people other than their followers.

This is where the difference between "following" and "engagement" on social media becomes apparent. "Following" is an indicator of interest in a company's account, while "engagement" includes not only people who are interested in the company's account, but also non-followers who are simply interested in the post.

It's easier to understand if you think of it as a "buzz." When a post goes viral, it can get high engagement, but that doesn't necessarily translate into a positive rating for your account or increased interest in your company.

If you think of improving engagement as simply creating highly-attractive posted content, you may end up with an increase in engagement but not an increase in the number of followers of your account. It is important to think about not only engagement, but also how many followers have been converted from it.
