Cantwell and Grassley’s legislation

“[Arbitrary] tariffs, particularly on our allies, damage U.S. export opportunities and raise prices for American consumers and businesses,” Cantwell, the ranking member of the Senate Commerce Committee, said in a statement. “As representatives of the American people, Congress has a duty to stop actions that will cause them harm.”
A similar bill to has already been introduced in the House, but it has no special lead Republican co-sponsors yet.
