Deleting your WhatsApp account is a significant action with specific consequences for data retention.

Irreversible Action: WhatsApp explicitly states that deleting your account is irreversible. You cannot regain access to the same account.
Deletion Process Timeline: It may take up to 90 days from the start of the deletion process for your WhatsApp information to be deleted. During this period, your information is not available to you on WhatsApp.
Backup Storage for Disaster Recovery: Copies of your information may remain even after 90 days in backup storage used for disaster recovery (e.g., in case of software errors or data loss events). However, this data is not accessible for regular use.
Impact on Others' Data: Deleting your account does not affect information panama phone number list related to groups you created (unless you are the only admin and the channel is deleted first) or messages that other users have relating to you (e.g., their copy of messages you sent them). Your old messages will remain in their chat histories.
Log Data Disassociation: WhatsApp may retain certain log data, but it will be disassociated from any identifying information, so it can no longer be linked back to your deleted account. Account IDs are replaced with replacement identifiers that cannot be traced back.

Retention for Legal Reasons: WhatsApp may keep information for reasons such as legal issues, terms violations, or harm prevention efforts.
Information Shared with Meta Companies: Information shared with other Meta Companies (if you've linked your WhatsApp account to an Accounts Centre) will also be deleted upon account deletion.
