Numerous architectural initiatives seek to office 365 email address data recycle materials, as well as redesign spaces.
Recycling, reuse of spaces and design for disassembly have emerged in response to current concerns about the high amount of natural resources exploited.
While recycling requires a certain amount of energy, reuse is free of charge. On the other hand, design for disassembly involves manufacturing spaces taking into account their useful life and future uses.
Another novel initiative is material databases to track their availability. “Adhering to this concept of buildings as material banks, Dutch architect Thomas Rau started Madaster , a public database of materials within existing projects aimed at preventing construction waste in the future,” notes the website Plataforma Arquitectura .
This platform indicates that any space is susceptible to using recycled materials : from bricks produced from rubber waste to concrete whose manufacturing component is construction waste.
In the Netherlands, a sustainability project was launched in October 2018 using recycled products. A bicycle lane in the city of Zwolle was made entirely from plastics derived from waste.
The Plataforma Arquitectura website warns of the urgency of modifying the design of buildings and other spaces, given their impact on climate change: “Buildings are currently responsible for 33% of global energy consumption and 39% of greenhouse gas emissions, indicating that architects must play an important role if we want to stop or reverse climate change.” Decarbonisation is an action required by environmental platforms.
FUNIBER sponsors numerous university programs focused on offering professionals complete and up-to-date information on different sustainable initiatives within the framework of architecture. One of the courses offered is the Master's Degree in Architecture and Urban Planning Projects .
