To encourage SMEs and self-employed workers to use new technologies, new challenges have been established that derive from the Spain Digital Plan 2026. We will see them in this article.
In 2020 we experienced an unexpected change due to the outbreak of COVID-19. This promoted the use of new technologies by companies to be able to continue working during confinement. It was also a time of reflection in which businessmen became aware of the real need to digitalise. The Government developed the Spain Digital Agenda 2025 to establish a roadmap for business digitalisation . The Spain Digital Plan is divided into three bases, which are the following:
Infrastructure and technology , which covers four oil and gas email list axes: connectivity, promotion of 5G technology, cybersecurity, data economy and artificial intelligence. The General Telecommunications Law was approved in relation to this pillar . The aim is to universalise rapid coverage throughout Spain by 2026 and transform the productive sectors.
Economy, which includes four axes: digital transformation of the public sector and companies, digital entrepreneurship, Spain – Audiovisual Hub and sectoral and sustainable digital transformation. In the private sector, for example, the Digital Kit project was launched. In addition, the National Entrepreneurship Office was created and ENISA's funding was reinforced.
People, which includes two axes: digital skills and rights. In this sense, programs are contemplated to improve digital skills that will be managed by the State and the Autonomous Communities. Regarding digital rights, various laws have been drawn up since 2021, such as the Remote Work Law or the Rider Law to regulate the new current labor reality.
This last pillar is the most important, since people must be at the centre of any change and their needs must always be considered. On the other hand, it is also important to eliminate inequalities.
The Spain Digital Plan 2026 will mean the elimination and simplification of bureaucratic procedures for companies.
