Almost half of employees admitted that they had multiple conflicts with their bosses and colleagues while working from home. 19% of managers said that their relationships with their subordinates had worsened over the three months of self-isolation.
These are the main findings of a survey in which we asked readers of our signature newsletter, Useful Reading, how self-isolation has affected the working atmosphere in their companies. We received 1,743 responses from business owners, managers, and specialists from different regions of the country.
What was it like before self-isolation?
Regardless of the epidemic and self-isolation regime, more than usa whatsapp list half of respondents (56.4%) periodically encountered rude treatment at work: 41.2% of respondents complained about rudeness on the part of managers, and 15.2% - about rude behavior of colleagues. However, 43% of employees claim that their teams have a purely peaceful atmosphere.
Most of the surveyed hired specialists (58%) manage to resolve conflicts without aggression. But among managers and business owners, 45% admitted that they periodically cannot restrain themselves and raise their voices at employees. However, only 2% of managers are convinced that their subordinates “don’t understand it any other way.”
To endure or not?
Many employees (45%) are ready to tolerate rude treatment from management if their salary was doubled. 24% would agree to ignore the manager’s shouts if they were paid extra “for harmful work”. Another 48% of respondents would be satisfied with an apology in the presence of the team.
At the same time, more than 40% of employees have already changed jobs due to bad attitudes from colleagues or management, and 28% would gladly fire their manager if they had such an opportunity.
