Content / On-page SEO
Let's talk about content and point out some tips for on-page SEO.
1. Republish the main content
2021 is the year you should consider relaunching your core content.
Content can get stale after a few years. You have a blog, you honduras phone number list launch it, and you share it on social media. Most people forget about it after that. So go back, look at your top content from the last two to five years (or even longer) and see what you can update and republish while keeping the same URL. In some cases, you'll get 500% to 1000% improvements from this simple action of updating content while leveraging the same URL.
2. Increase the number of internal links
Currently, many of the top SEO agencies , when they need to quickly increase client rankings, often use two things that they know are the easiest levers to pull. First, title tags and meta descriptions, which gets more clicks, but also increased internal links.
Explore your website and you will see that there are many more opportunities to increase internal links than you thought. In the following two tips you will see how to do it without too much effort.
3. Update old content with new links
This is a step we see people skip over and over again. When you publish a new blog post or new content, make sure to go back and update your old content with those new links.
That is, find the main keyword you want to rank for and go to Google Search Console or use tools like Keyword Explorer to see what other pages on your site are ranking for that keyword, and then add links to the new content on those pages. You'll see that each time you do this, you'll reduce the bounce rate. It's about not only updating your old page with new content but also with new links that give it greater relevance.
4. Remove unnecessary links
Removing links is a form of PageRank sculpting , an ugly SEO thing, but actually, nofollowing some pages can work.
It’s all about removing unnecessary links. Do you really need a link to your “About Us” page on every page of your website? Do you need a link to your contact form on every page of your website? Possibly not all of them. Removing unnecessary links will give prominence to the links that really count: the ones that are an important Google ranking signal.
5. Parity audit of mobile links
You should perform a mobile link parity audit. What is that? That's ensuring that the links on your mobile site are the same as the links on your desktop site. Why is this so important? Well, in recent years, Google has prioritized a mobile-first index, meaning that your website is what it finds on your mobile site.
Without taking this into account, many web pages are built for desktop and then stripped down for the mobile site, sacrificing links – removing header navigation, footer links, and so on. A recent study showed that the average desktop page has 61 links while the average mobile page has 54 links. That’s seven fewer links on mobile pages than on desktop pages, which leads to a loss of link equity.
So do some research on your own website. Make sure you have mobile link parity between your desktop and mobile version so you don't lose that equity.
6. Invest in long-form content
You need to invest in long-form content. Now, this doesn't mean that content length is a ranking factor, because it isn't. Short-form content can rank perfectly well. The reason it's recommended to invest in longer content is because consistently, time and time again, when we study this, we come to the conclusion that the longer the content, the more links it contains and the more it gets shared.
It also generally tends to rank higher in Google search results. Nothing against short-form content – we love it. But publishing longer content from time to time provides more return in terms of SEO ranking potential.
7. Use more headings
When producing long content, make sure to use more headings, more H2 and H3 tags.
Break up your content with good, keyword-rich header tags. According to a study by AJ Ghergich, we know that the more header tags you have, the better your featured snippets will generally rank. In this study, they found that sites with 12 or 13 header tags, although this may seem like an exaggeration, rank much better.
So start breaking up your content with header tags. Add some contextual relevance with as many featured snippets as you can. It’s a great way to boost your content’s rankings.
8. Take advantage of grouping topics
Take advantage of the potential of topic clustering. Don’t just post one piece of content. Write multiple pieces of content on the same topic and link them together. When you do this and link them together intelligently, you can increase the engagement of the people who are reading them.
So this year, look at your topic clusters and add the appropriate contextual internal links.
9. Remove the contents of the tabs
